Wife to my soulmate, mom to my sweet baby boy, believer in love and happily ever afters. You can usually find me frequenting the aisles of Home-Goods, obsessing over the latest Restoration Hardware magazine, searching for my next glass of sweet tea or indulging in some really bad reality TV (don't judge me)
Laura + Mike! Where to even begin with these two. Laura may or may not be the calmest/chillest bride I’ve ever encountered! She is SO all about going with the flow and I love her for that. I’m a little biased since I was married at The Reeds, but it’s still one of my favorite places to shoot at, even in the middle of the winter! The view is INSANE + makes for the dreamiest pictures. I don’t think you could tell that it was below 30 degrees with a serious wind chill in any of their photos 😉 Laura + Mike, thank you for braving the cooler temps with me! I think it was totally worth it.
The couple’s sweet dog Murphy made an appearance on the wedding day. You all know how much I love my two frenchies… so when I heard about poor Murphy + his heartbreaking story battling bone cancer, I couldn’t help but feel Laura + Mike’s pain. Murphy was diagnosed just three months prior to their wedding. They were told he would only survive 3 weeks-3 months, so naturally, there were so many mixed emotions leading up to what was supposed to be the happiest day of their lives. Murphy made it to the wedding and was even able to pose for a few pictures… thank you Murphy for being such a trooper and knowing that Laura + Mike needed you on their wedding day. Sadly, Murphy passed a few weeks after their wedding. I’m just so grateful to have been able to capture sweet images of he + Laura and it’s moments like these where I’m able to reflect on how important + impactful shooting a wedding day can be and how we only sometimes have these memories to look back on.
Dedicating this blog post to sweet Murphy <3 I hope you are running + swimming up in heaven.
