Spring Lake Wedding Photographer | Molly Sue Photography

Some wedding days just feel different. They’re soft, unhurried, and full of light. Maggie and Mark’s wedding at the Spring Lake Bath and Tennis Club was exactly that kind of day. Our associate team at Molly Sue Photography had the honor of documenting every moment. From quiet morning preparations to the last song under the tent, we were there for all of it. As your Spring Lake wedding photographer, days like this are why we do what we do.
Spring Lake has a way of making you slow down. The tree-lined streets set a tone immediately. So does the gentle hum of the Atlantic a few blocks away. And then there’s the historic charm of the borough itself — it all works together before the first frame is even captured.
On Maggie and Mark’s wedding day, the skies were overcast and moody. That’s actually a good thing for photography. Overcast light is soft and diffused. There are no harsh shadows. No squinting in bright sun. Instead, everything is bathed in even, creamy light that makes portraits feel cinematic.
In addition, the cherry blossom trees were still in bloom. They dusted the air with pale pink petals. The result was a romantic, fleeting quality that felt almost too perfect to be real. As a Spring Lake wedding photographer, we’ve shot here many times. Even so, this day stood out.
The morning had a calm, unhurried energy. Maggie and her crew moved through it with ease. That laid-back tone set the pace for everything that followed.
The bridesmaids wore mismatched greens and blues — sage, dusty teal, soft olive, muted cornflower. Together, they looked stunning against the spring landscape. A mismatched palette done well feels personal and organic. It’s like a garden that grew intentionally wild.
Furthermore, the details were thoughtful without being overdone. The styling photographed beautifully because it was rooted in intention rather than trend.
Before the ceremony, we headed to Spring Lake Divine Park for portraits. It’s just a short distance from the club. Moreover, it’s one of our absolute favorite spots in the area.
The park offers lush green space and mature trees. On this particular day, it also had cherry blossoms hanging low over the walkways. If you’re planning a Spring Lake wedding, put this location on your list.
Maggie and Mark were naturals in front of the camera. There was easy laughter and genuine connection. They trusted the process and simply enjoyed being together. That ease shows up in every image. The overcast sky acted like a giant softbox, and the blossoms framed them effortlessly.
As a Spring Lake wedding photographer, we always recommend pairing Divine Park portraits with a Bath and Tennis Club wedding. The two complement each other perfectly.
The Spring Lake Bath and Tennis Club needs very little added decoration. It has history and character. The architecture speaks for itself. As a Monmouth County wedding venue, it offers a coastal elegance that’s hard to match.
Maggie and Mark’s ceremony was intimate and emotional. The vows were real and unhurried. Guests leaned in close. There were tears. There was laughter. Sometimes both at the same time.
Meanwhile, our team moved quietly through the space. We captured moments as they unfolded rather than directing them. The soft light, the green and blue bridal party palette, and the cherry blossom details all came together beautifully. The result was something cohesive and genuinely moving.
The reception flowed naturally from ceremony to cocktail hour to dinner. The pacing was relaxed. Guests actually had time to be present. And then — the tent.
There is something magical about a tented reception. The warmth and intimacy are unlike anything else. The ambient light wraps around everyone inside. It creates a world unto itself.
Maggie and Mark’s dance floor was alive. Friends and family packed in close. The music was just right. Additionally, the energy was the kind you feel in your chest — the kind that’s impossible to fake.
Our team documented it from every angle. Wide shots of the full tent. Tight candids of friends on the dance floor. Quiet in-between moments between Maggie and Mark. This particular group of people absolutely delivered.
We want to speak directly to couples considering this venue. This is our first blog feature from the Spring Lake Bath and Tennis Club. As a Spring Lake wedding photographer who has worked throughout Monmouth County, we can tell you — it photographs beautifully. Here’s why:
In short, this venue is a dream to photograph. If you’re a New Jersey couple considering it, we’d love to be your Spring Lake wedding photographer.
